FAQs

Do I have to commit to coaching with MCA after this Initial Consultation?

Absolutely not! Our Initial Consultations are non-binding and designed to set you on the right path for YOU, no matter what path that might be.

We understand that private audition coaching is a considerable investment of time and resources, and it’s important to make sure you find the best fit! We just hope it’s us :)

When should I do an Initial Consultation?

We recommend students begin coaching for college auditions during the fall or winter of their Junior year — but it’s never too early or too late to schedule an Initial Consultation!

I'm only a Freshman/Sophomore , but I’d like to get started now! Is it too early to do an Initial Consultation?

Not at all! We love an eager beaver! We'll frame the conversation around what you should be focusing on over the next few years to set yourself up for success, suggest potential opportunities for continued training, and highlight the technical skills you'll need to deepen to ultimately be as competitive an applicant as possible in the college audition process.

My parents/guardians aren't available. Can I still do an Initial Consultation?

Yes, however, we STRONGLY encourage having a parent/guardian present if possible.

I have an extremely busy schedule. What are your coaching hours?

MCA offers coaching sessions 7 days a week from 9AM until 9PM with amazing coaches located on both coasts of the USA.

All of our coaches are professional working actors, so individual availability may fluctuate (due to rehearsal, performance, and filming schedules), however your coaches will always partner with you to make sure you can schedule lessons at a time that works for YOU, and that you are fully prepped to rock your auditions!

I live in Boston or NYC, do you offer In-Person coaching?

Totally! Your Consultant will discuss available In-Person coaching options with you during your Initial Consultation.

I don't have any songs/monologue prepared - is it okay to just send performance clips?

Unfortunately, no. You are welcome to send along performance clips when booking (it's highly encouraged!) - but our expert Consultants will need to see you perform LIVE during the Initial Consultation. Don't stress! This is NOT an audition! Please do not put off booking while you search for “perfect” material — that’s what we’re here for! :) Any material you are comfortable with + enjoy performing is completely acceptable.

I only need help choosing material (monologues, songs, dance, etc.) Can I skip this Initial Consultation and go straight to coaching?

The first step of the MCA coaching process — no matter where you are in the college audition journey — is an Initial Consultation. Why? This process is extremely competitive and extremely personal — it’s important for us to get to know you so we can offer you the best support!

MCA is proud to offer customizable support for the college audition process, and we are here to support you with as much — or as little — coaching prep as is needed. Already have an amazing voice teacher in your corner? Awesome! Teamwork makes the dreamwork!

With that in mind, however, we do believe that having a Consultant in your corner for the process — someone to offer big picture perspective, historical insights, and answer any and every question — is beneficial for ALL applicants!

Joining the MCA Fam means having an expert Consultant on your team for the entire process — so our Initial Consultation is an essential first step!

I still have some questions. Can I speak with someone before scheduling my Initial Consultation?
