Why participate in an MCA Mock Audition Day?

Mock Auditions are an essential part of College Audition Preparation. There’s no Opening Night without a Dress Rehearsal, so before you step foot into your first exciting audition, you’ll need to put your prep to the test.Dressed in your college audition outfit, you’ll experience what it’s like to participate in a dance call (MT’s only), perform your audition repertoire for a panel of auditors, tackle artistic adjustments, and practice answering interview questions. You’ll complete TWO rounds of Mock Auditions, and will leave with personalized notes + feedback that will elevate your audition technique, help you stand out from the crowd, + ensure you make the most of each audition.

  • Absolutely! We always keep our Mock Auditions open to the public, as this is such a critical part of preparing for the process well. We would love to welcome you! We have the utmost respect for our fellow coaches out there, and give feedback accordingly.

  • Mocks are designed to provide comprehensive feedback on your entire audition package. Notes may include: performance of your material, audition outfit, handling of interview questions + artistic adjustments, slating, headshot + resume, music binder and/or tracks preparation, overall preparedness, first impression, confidence, etc.

  • Our amazing team of MCA Coaches! Our coaches are professional working artists and include Tony, Emmy, and Grammy nominees who have performed on Broadway stages and television screens across the globe. Many of them are also auditioning faculty at top MT programs, so you may even be seeing them again after your Mock Audition Day! As seasoned educators, they have coached hundreds of students to audition success + know exactly what it takes to nail your auditions.

  • 100%! Confidence plays a HUGE role in a student’s audition process. Mock Auditions are a safe and supportive space for learning how to successfully navigate the added stakes that come with a real audition.

  • MT Applicants:

    • 2 Contrasting Songs (minimum)

    • 1 Contemporary Monologue (minimum)

    • 1 Pop/Rock Song (encouraged)

    • 1 Classical Monologue (encouraged)

    Acting Applicants:

    • 2 Contrasting Contemporary Monologues (minimum)

    • 1 Classical Monologue (minimum)
