Creating a college list with Reaches, Matches and Safety schools can be a confusing and daunting task if you are a Performing Arts applicant. MCA's President/Founder and author of Before the College Audition, Chelsea Diehl, will help develop a cohesive, realistic and exciting list for each MCA student. Combining the unique needs and hopes of the student with their talent and probability at each program - each MCA student receives a college list uniquely suited to them.
One of the most intimidating tasks students face is picking a perfect audition monologue. Not only will we find you the perfect pieces, we will also coach you to be audition ready. Our monologues are fresh, from published plays, are never overdone and follow the guidelines/requirements of all colleges.
Between Uptempos, Ballads and Pre-1965 requirements - it's hard to decipher what will showcase your strengths most effectively in the audition room. Our coaches work to find music that represents your personality and style and prepares each student on every possible requirement that is expected.
If you are going for Musical Theatre or Dance, it's essential to get some college audition dance prep under your belt. Working with a coach will help you understand what they are looking for in the room and what type of combination you can expect to see. Our Dance Coach will also choreograph and prep you on your pre-screen dance combination.
Knowing what to expect in the room is a huge part of being successful in the college audition process. We will prep you on the questions you can expect and prepare you for typical adjustments you could receive.
We host Mock Auditions during our Master Class Weekends in October and December. An invaluable opportunity to run through a sample audition and receive written feedback from professionals.
We offer two separate coaching hours with Chelsea Diehl. In the first hour, Chelsea will help you make a potential audition schedule. We will discuss which schools to audition for early, on-campus and at unifieds to reap the best results. The second consulting hour will happen at the end of the process and Chelsea will help to weigh pros and cons of each acceptance and decide which program is perfect for you!
